£65.00– Full Hardware Diagnostic & Written Report
Not sure what’s wrong with your computer? This standalone diagnostic service is designed for those facing multiple issues or intermittent faults that aren’t easily pinpointed.
Unlike our fixed fee repair service, which assumes a clear, solvable issue within our general scope, this diagnostic service is perfect for cases where the root cause isn’t obvious — or you suspect there may be several issues at play.
It provides clarity and confidence before committing to any repair work. If you proceed with a repair through us, this fee may be deducted from your total at our discretion.
£95.00 Fixed Fee (plus parts) – No Hourly Charges
Most repairs \ support are completed in a single visit — no creeping hourly bills.
Whether you’re at home or running a small business, our fixed fee repair \ support service ensures that you know exactly what you’ll pay – no matter how long it takes us to resolve your issue.Any software or hardware repair, labour included (parts extra)

This service isn’t designed for business clients needing support across multiple systems or a range of issues in one visit. If your needs involve several tasks, varied devices, or broader troubleshooting, our Business IT Support & Consultancy – Multi-Task Visit is the better fit, charged at an hourly rate.
The £95 fixed fee is ideal for resolving specific, predictable issues—the kind of jobs where the time and scope are clear from the outset. It’s built for efficiency, transparency, and peace of mind.
£59 - For work that takes 30 mins or less to resolve either onsite or remote
Our Quick Fix rate covers any job that takes 30 minutes or less to resolve. It’s designed to give you fast, affordable support without paying the full General Computer & Tech Support fee for shorter visits.
If the job takes over 30 minutes, it automatically moves to our fixed fee service of £95.00. At this point, you’re not charged by the minute—just one clear, flat rate for the full resolution.
This structure ensures fairness and transparency, whether it’s a quick tweak or a more involved fix.

£109 Fixed Fee (Per Computer ) -Transfer Data From Old To New & Configure
We handle the essentials to get your new computer up and running smoothly:
No. Most applications—including those like Sage Accounts, QuickBooks, CAD software, and games—can’t simply be copied over.
They need to be reinstalled using original setup files and license keys. – While we’re happy to install commonly used applications such as Zoom, antivirus software, Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, and Google Drive for example, the responsibility for reinstalling specialist or licensed software remains with the client.
Think of it like moving house: you bring the furniture (your files), but reconnect the services (your apps)
We’ll transfer your standard personal files (like documents, photos, and music), but anything linked to specialist software—such as accounts packages or industry-specific tools—will need extra attention.
For example, if you use Sage Accounts, your files aren’t stored like regular documents. The data lives inside the software, so it must bemanually exported from your old machine and then restored once the program is reinstalled on the new one.
You’re responsible for backing up and restoring this type of data, as well as reinstalling the software itself.
This is just one example—many applications work this way. Accounting tools, databases, EPOS systems, CAD software, and more often store their data in similar behind-the-scenes locations.
As outlined in our Terms & Conditions:
“Files are transferred to standard system directories (e.g., Documents, Desktop, Pictures). The Service Provider will exercise care during data migration but does not organize or recreate user-specific file structures unless contracted to do so.”
You’re responsible for checking that your data is fully and correctly transferred. Further file organisation or troubleshooting is chargeable at our standard hourly rate.
Yes. We’ll need you available during the appointment to provide access details for your Microsoft account, email accounts, and any apps you’d like us to reinstall.
Not quite—there’s no “transfer all” button. We rely on you to let us know what matters most beyond standard folders.
To make sure nothing is missed, please tell us:
The more specific you are, the better we can tailor the setup to your needs.

Compulsory Diagnostic Inspection: £49
Some repairs deserve extra care. Replacing a cracked screen or damaged hinge may look straightforward, but every laptop model is built differently—and the parts aren’t always interchangeable. Before we quote, we carry out a hands‑on inspection to make sure we order the exact part and avoid hidden complications.
Even with the same make and model number, devices assembled in different factories can use different panels, cable layouts or hinge assemblies.
A drop that shatters a screen or loosens a hinge can also bend the frame, damage internal clips, or strain the display cable. These issues only become obvious when we open the case.
Installing a new screen or hinge involves delicately prying bezels and unclipping plastic housings. If prior stress has weakened those clips, they can break during re‑assembly—so we need to gauge the risk first.
We may (in some cases) have to open the laptop, verify the exact part numbers, and check for collateral damage. We will only open the laptop up if we believe that no further damage has occurred from an initial look.
You receive an itemised quote covering verified parts and labour. No surprises later.
Once you approve, we fit the new screen or hinges, run a full hardware test, and return your laptop ready for work.
By inspecting first, we ensure an accurate quote and a successful repair saving everyone the frustration of unforeseen delays or extra costs.
Initial Inspection: £69.00 | Follow-up Work: £85/hour + parts
Struggling with weak Wi-Fi or patchy internet across the house? Our expert team will carry out a detailed on-site assessment for £65, diagnose the root of the issue, and provide a tailored solution.
We typically resolve most home network issues in under 2 hours. We charge £85 per hour for implementation – and in some cases, we offer a fixed-price solution for complete transparency.

That’s why we charge hourly: it allows us to work through everything thoroughly and efficiently, without rushing, while ensuring fair compensation for the time, knowledge, and expertise involved.

A Breakdown of what our No Fix No Fee policy means
Our No Fix, No Fee policy is designed to give peace of mind to home users. If we can’t diagnose the issue or resolve it with the tools and services we offer, you won’t be charged — simple as that.
✅ When it applies:
❌ When it doesn’t apply:
This policy is aimed at home users who want expert help without the risk of paying for no result. If we’re stumped, you don’t pay — but if we’ve helped you understand the problem and options, our standard diagnostic fee applies.
At Cranfield IT Solutions, you’re paying for a solution—not a stopwatch. Some repairs take 30 minutes, others take hours. Same symptoms, different root causes. Charging by the hour just isn’t fair.
So we keep it simple:
Whether it takes 10 minutes or all afternoon, your peace of mind comes first.
We do offer hourly support for businesses needing scheduled time, guaranteed availability or ongoing IT support. But for home users needed one off fixes, then fixed fees are clearer, fairer, and more reassuring.
Note: Cranfield IT Solutions is a mobile service—we come to you. We don’t operate a walk-in shop, and our offices aren’t open to the public.
Platform Support:
Our expertise lies in Microsoft systems and smart tech setups. We offer limited support for Apple devices happy to provide basic guidance, but they’re not a core part of our service offering.
